Engineers Australia announces fee increases for 2025–26: Migration skills assessment costs to rise

From 1 July 2025, Engineers Australia (EA) has officially increased all migration skills assessment fees by approximately 3% to 4%. This adjustment, approved by the Department of Home Affairs, applies to all assessment pathways. If you are planning to submit an EA skills assessment, it’s important to review the updated fees and plan your budget accordingly.

Fees increase across all assessment categories

The updated pricing affects international accredited qualifications (Washington, Sydney, Dublin Accords), Australian engineering qualifications, Competency Demonstration Report (CDR) assessments, and additional services such as fast-track processing, overseas PhD verification, and skilled employment assessments.

Some key examples:

• Washington/Sydney/Dublin Accord assessment: from AUD 522.50 to AUD 539 (including GST)

• Standard CDR assessment: from AUD 968 to AUD 1,001

• Fast-track service: from AUD 368.50 to AUD 385

The new fee structure is now in effect.

Fast-track fee increases but processing times are not guaranteed

The fast-track service now costs AUD 385 (including GST). This service promises allocation to an assessor within 20 business days but does not guarantee that the full assessment will be finalised in this timeframe. The fast-track fee is non-refundable.

Overseas PhD and skilled employment assessments also more expensive

The cost of verifying overseas engineering PhD qualifications has increased to AUD 346.50 (including GST), while the fee for assessing relevant skilled employment is now AUD 517.
