Brief fact on GTI program

The Global Talent Independent (GTI) program is designed to attract outstanding global talent in specific industries and sector. Individuals who excel in their area in one of the government’s target sectors and are anticipated to earn at least AU$158,500 in Australia are eligible for the programme. This figure is based on the Fair Work High Income Threshold (FWHIT), which is updated every year on July 1st.

What are the common mistakes?

1. Submitting incomplete Expression of Interest (EOI)

Global Talent Independent (GTI) program is very competitive which designed to attract the best and the brightest, your EOI is the first thing the Department of Home Affairs will look at. Hence, it would be the better to submit your EOI in the best possible way for the best first impression.

A lack of supporting documents for your achievement would be fatal to your EOI. Some rushed to submit their EOI and forgot to include important document, now wish to provide further documentation. While you can email the Department of Home Affairs to provide further documentation, your EOI will be adversely affected for sure considering the volume of applications they have.

2. Submitting technical or redundant information

This program will surely attract people who are working on ground-breaking projects in new and innovative fields. You should avoid using latin/scientific jargon of your research when submitting your EOIs, as the GTI officer is highly unlikely to equip the necessary skills to understand technical jargons. Keep it simple and straightforward.
